Two men were arrested in Saco and one in Biddeford this week and police seized $125,000 worth of drugs in what state authorities say was one of the largest crack cocaine seizures ever in Maine.

Officers from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency had been tracking the three for the past year, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. He said the three had developed a large-scale heroin- and crack-dealing operation in the Biddeford-Saco area.

According to McCausland, Eric Adams, 38, of Waterbury, Connecticut, would bring the drugs in from out of state and distribute them to Obrian Barrett, 29, and Todd Milliken, 35, both of Biddeford, and others. The drugs were then sold in Saco, Biddeford and surrounding towns.

MDEA agents purchased drugs from the men as part of the investigation, McCausland said.

Adams and Milliken were arrested Wednesday at the Hampton Inn in Saco in a room that had been rented by Barrett. McCausland said that, at the time of the arrest, Milliken had a loaded handgun, crack cocaine and heroin. Agents searched the room and found about 260 grams of crack cocaine, which McCausland said represents about 520 doses. He also said 400 grams of heroin, representing about 400 doses, were also seized, along with $27,000 in cash.

Barrett was arrested Thursday. He was a passenger in a car that was stopped on Boulder Way in Biddeford.

MDEA agents also searched a storage unit on Route 1 in Arundel. McCausland said agents believe the men used the unit to process and store many of the drugs. About 800 grams of crack and 52 grams of heroin were seized at the unit, along with five handguns.

All three men were charged with aggravated trafficking of heroin and were taken to the York County Jail. Bail was set at $150,000 cash each.

McCausland said the investigation is continuing and further arrests are expected.
