WATERBORO — Tre Fletcher pitched a four-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and no walks Thursday, leading Cheverus to a 5-0 victory against Massabesic in an SMAA baseball game.

Jensen LaPoint had a double and single for Cheverus (4-1), and Jack Casale, Jared Brooks and Joshua Veroneau each added a pair of singles.

Adam DeAngelis had a pair of hits for Massabesic (2-4).

PORTLAND 10, NOBLE 3: Joe Fusco’s two-run double highlighted a four-run first inning and the Bulldogs (6-0) went on to down the Knights (0-7) at North Berwick.

Portland added three runs in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Nick Archambault had three hits for Portland, including a double. Jake Knop added a triple and double.

Tyler Merrill had a pair of doubles for Noble.

Don Tocci picked up the win, going six innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking none.

MARSHWOOD 4, DEERING 0: Keith Dorr pitched a four-hitter with three strikeouts as the Hawks (3-4) defeated the Rams (4-2) at South Berwick.

Marshwood took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, sparked by Holden Jackman’s RBI double.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 10, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 9: Cody Blanchette broke a 9-9 tie with a pinch-hit double in the fifth inning as the Seagulls (5-1) held off the Panthers (3-3) at Old Orchard Beach.

Evan O’Donnell was 2 for 3 for Old Orchard with a walk. Jon Gillis added a pair of hits.

Galen Arnold led NYA with three singles, Brent Rickett added a double and a single.

LEAVITT 13, OCEANSIDE 8: The Hornets (3-2) rallied to score eight runs over the final two innings and defeated the Mariners (4-1) at Thomaston.

Brian Hewitt finished with four hits and also pitched the final 12/3 innings, striking out four.

Nick Mazurek had a double and a home run for the Mariners. He also pitched the first three innings, allowing one run and striking out four.

MESSALONSKEE 12, BRUNSWICK 1: Messalonskee (4-2) scored 12 runs in the third inning to defeat the Dragons (1-6) at Brunswick.

Sam Bell hit a single and triple, and drove in four runs for Messalonskee. Tyler Lewis had two hits and an RBI, and Josh Joy had two hits and drove in a pair. Joy also struck out four to earn the win.

Brunswick (1-6) had two hits.

WINSLOW 12, MEDOMAK VALLEY 8: Patrick Hopkins hit two doubles and drove in three runs to help the Black Raiders (5-0) beat the Panthers (2-4) at Winslow.

Spencer Miranda drove in a pair of runs for Winslow, Dameron Rodrigue had two singles, and Luke Fredette doubled, singled, and drove in a run.

Ollie Brown doubled and drove in three runs for Medomak.

MADISON 10, BOOTHBAY REGION 0: Chase Malloy went 2 for 2 with an RBI and three runs as the Bulldogs (6-0) shut out Boothbay Region (0-4) in five innings at Madison.

Evan Bess added an RBI triple and two runs, and Ryan Emery drove in a run and scored two for the Bulldogs.

WEDNESDAY’S BASEBALL

SOUTH PORTLAND 7, GORHAM 1: Riley Hasson went 2 for 2 with a double and drove in four runs to lead the Red Riots (5-1) over the Rams (2-3) at South Portland.

Drew Abramson went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs, and Matt Crockett and Sam Troiano each added two hits. Griffin Kelley allowed one walk on six hits, striking out five.

Ben Nelson had two hits for Gorham, including a double.
