BIDDEFORD — Evan Balzano hit a three-run homer during a five-run first inning and added a two-run blast in the seventh as Thornton Academy rolled to a 10-1 win over Biddeford in an SMAA baseball game Saturday.

The Trojans (10-2), ranked second in Class A South, also got a two-run, pinch-hit homer from Adam Gibbons in the fifth inning. Brogan Searle-Belanger finished with four hits, three runs scored and two stolen bases.

Thornton starter Ben Lambert struck out 10 and walked two while giving up one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Kerry Crepeau scored Biddeford’s run on an RBI single by Brady Crepeau in the first inning. Owen Sullivan hit a pair of singles for the Tigers (3-9).

SCARBOROUGH 6, GORHAM 2: Matt Caron hit an RBI single during a four-run third inning and added another RBI single in the fourth to help lift the Red Storm (10-2) over the Rams (8-4) at Gorham.

Scarborough starter Mitchell Wedge struck out three and walked two while giving up five hits over six scoreless innings.

Nick Lorello added three singles, a run scored and a stolen base. Timothy Carion and Bayley Welsh each hit a pair of singles.

The Rams scored both of their runs in the bottom of the seventh, getting one on an RBI single by Trent Bassingthwaite.

Cam Smith hit a pair of singles for Gorham.

BONNY EAGLE 3, WESTBROOK 2: Dana McKay laced a double down the third-base line to drive home Kolby Lambert with the tiebreaking run in the top of the seventh inning as the Scots (9-4) beat the Blue Blazes (2-10) in Westbrook.

Lambert singled with one out and stole second before McKay’s hit.

Noah Scribner singled home Cam Robinson to give the Scots a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Bonny Eagle made it 2-0 in the fifth when Troy Bogdahn scored on McKay’s single.

Westbrook tied the game in the bottom of the fifth. Kyle Champagne and Derek Corbett singled and eventually scored on Bill Ryan’s hit.

Lambert earned the win in relief of Scribner. Ryan went the distance for Westbrook, allowing six hits and four walks while striking out eight.

RICHMOND SWEEPS FOREST HILLS: Richmond (8-4) pounded out 31 hits and pushed 38 runs across the plate to sweep a doubleheader in Jackman, 17-4 and 21-2.

Zach Small went 5 for 7, and Matt Rines and Brandon Emmons added four hits apiece. Emmons and Curtis Anderson picked up the victories on the mound.

Caleb Lacasse led the Tigers (2-11) with three hits, including a double.

FALMOUTH 13, MESSALONSKEE 3: Falmouth (8-0) scored the last eight goals to pull away from Messalonskee (7-3) at Thomas College in Waterville.

Jack Scribner notched seven goals, and George Gilbert added three goals and two assists.

Will Weeks, Dylan Jones and Austin Pelletier scored for Messalonskee.

THORNTON ACADEMY 12, GREELY 5: C.J. LaBreck scored four times for the Trojans (6-2) in a victory over Greely (5-4) in Saco.

Jaden Wells and Jon Giroux added two goals each, and Charlie Katz had four assists.

Dillon Trelegan scored twice for Greely and also assisted on a goal.

CAMDEN HILLS 10, WINSLOW 6: Thomas Gribel and Cyrus Demmons scored four goals apiece to lead the Windjammers (10-0) over the Black Raiders (4-4) in Winslow.

Jonah Cameron added two goals for Camden Hills.

David Selwood scored three goals for Winslow.

MASSABESIC 19, MARSHWOOD 7: Ethan Ouellette scored 10 goals to lead the Mustangs (4-5) past the Hawks (0-9) at Waterboro.

Cam Roy added five goals, and Massabesic keeper Blake Foglio finished with 21 saves.
