Cody Dube of Windham High was selected in the 10th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Baltimore Orioles.

Dube, a right-handed pitcher, recently finished his senior season at Keene State University. In nine starts this season, he was 3-3 with a 1.20 ERA. He struck out 84 batters in 672/3 innings. He had three complete games and five starts with 10 strikeouts or more, including a career high 15 against UMass-Dartmouth on May 6. He finished his career with 166 strikeouts, second most in school history, and a career ERA of 2.68.

“It’s just a whole bunch of emotions right now,” Dube said in a release on the Keene State website. “It was a long day waiting by the phone. The Cubs and Orioles both called in the 10th round, and the Orioles had the earlier pick. It’s awesome, and a big relief to move on to the next level.”

WHITE SOX: Chicago called up top prospect Tim Anderson and designated struggling veteran shortstop Jimmy Rollins for assignment.

The White Sox purchased Anderson’s contract from Triple-A Charlotte, hoping the shortstop can help jolt a team that has gone from leading the AL Central with a 23-10 record to fourth.

YANKEES: Chris Parmelee is expected to miss at least a month after becoming latest New York first baseman to get injured.

PHILLIES: Philadelphia placed right-hander Vince Velasquez on the 15-day disabled list with a right biceps strain two days after the starter was pulled in the first inning.

CUBS: First baseman Anthony Rizzo was scratched from the lineup against the Atlanta Braves due to back tightness. His status is day to day.

Rizzo, hitting .259, has 13 homers and 43 RBI.

REDS: The team placed center fielder Billy Hamilton on the seven-day concussion list, opening a spot so right-hander Anthony DeSclafani could start the first game of a series against Oakland.
