SINCLAIR — Police say a man was killed when a seasonal home collapsed in Sinclair in northern Maine.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department said the victim, 49-year-old Kevin Kearney of Mars Hill, had been under the structure, working to make it level.

WAGM-TV reports that Kearney died while pinned under the lakeside structure.

Firefighters from nearby communities helped local emergency workers stabilize the structure enough to recover the body. North Lakes Fire Chief Darren Woods said the recovery was the most technically difficult he has been involved with in more than two decades in the fire service.
