SCARBOROUGH — Travis Benjamin held off a late challenge from DJ Shaw to win the Pro All Star Series 150 on Saturday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

It was the second straight Beech Ridge victory for Benjamin, of Merrill, who also won at the track in July.

Shaw, of Center Conway, New Hampshire, extended his series points lead with his second-place finish. Waterboro’s Curtis Gerry, this year’s Pro Series champion at Beech Ridge, finished third, followed by Jeff Taylor of Farmington and Ben Rowe of Turner.

Earlier, series points leader Nick Sweet of Barre, Vermont, led the final 87 laps to win the American-Canadian Tour’s Fall Foliage 150.

Sweet took the lead from Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Massachusetts, on Lap 64 and held it the rest of the way to earn his third ACT win of the year and his second career victory at Beech Ridge.

MacDonald settled for second place, and Jason Corliss of Barre, Vermont, finished third.

XFINITY SERIES: Erik Jones passed Elliott Sadler with nine laps to go and held off Kyle Larson to win at Chicagoland Speedway, allowing Ryan Sieg and Blake Koch to claim the final two spots in the Chase for the championship.

The 20-year-old Jones’ series-high fourth win of the season left him as the top seed for the seven-race Chase. Jones won the Truck Series title a year ago and will move to the Sprint Cup next year.

Sadler was third, followed by Daniel Suarez and Illinois native Justin Allgaier.
