Westbrook police charged a man Wednesday night on multiple charges, including two counts of felony burglary, after he was caught breaking into a home by the owners.
Michael Timmins, 40, was arrested Wednesday night and was charged with the two burglary charges, as well as multiple misdeameanor charges for threatening a couple after they caught him breaking into their Middle Street home, according to a post on the Westbrook Police Department’s Facebook page.
The couple called police after returning around 9 p.m. to find Timmins in their home. They said Timmins threatened them before fleeing to a nearby garage, where he was apprehended by police.
Timmins was found in possession of property that may have been stolen at an earlier date. He was also charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs,
Westbrook police are asking anyone who experienced a recent burglar but has not reported it to the police to call the department at 854-0644.
