OXFORD, Ohio — Louie Belpedio scored twice as Miami University broke a scoreless tie with a three-goal second period on the way to a 5-0 victory over Maine in a men’s hockey game Saturday night.

Anthony Louis scored the first goal 3:42 into the second period. Belpedio doubled the lead just 25 seconds later before notching a second goal midway through the period. Scott Dornbrock and Kiefer Sherwood each added a goal in the final period for the RedHawks (2-1-2).

Ryan Larkin kept the Black Bears at bay with 33 saves. Rob McGovern had 28 saves for Maine (3-2-1).

MEN’S SOCCER

BATES 3, MIDDLEBURY 2: Peabo Knoth knocked in a pass from Julien Williamson 9:15 into overtime as visiting Bates (6-6-2, 2-6-1 NESCAC) beat Middlebury (9-2-3, 4-2-3).

Bates pulled ahead 2-1 early in the second half when Matt DiVite scored his second goal of the game on a header off a pass from Luke McNabb.

The Panthers, who are ranked 15th nationally, tied the game on a goal by Tom Bean with 18:47 left in regulation.

HAMILTON 4, COLBY 0: Matt Casadei scored a pair of goals as the Continentals (7-6-1, 5-4-1) scored three second-half goals to pull away from the Mules (4-8-2, 1-6-2) in a NESCAC win at Waterville.

Avery Gibson finished with seven saves for the Mules, who were outshot 16-9 by Hamilton.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 1, BOWDOIN 1: Chris Lockwood scored the equalizer for the Camels (9-4-1, 4-4-1) with 3:37 left in regulation as they tied the Polar Bears (7-3-4, 3-3-3) in a NESCAC game at Brunswick.

Matt McColl gave Bowdoin a 1-0 lead 26:17 into the game.

Noah Safian made three saves for the Polar Bears, who outshot the Camels 13-8.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT ST. 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Xavier Doran had two goals and an assist as the Warriors (6-8-1, 4-2 Little East) scored three times in the final 25 minutes to pull away from the Huskies (1-11-3, 0-6) in Willimantic, Connecticut.

Simon Hulbert finished with five saves for the Huskies, who were outshot 19-2 by the Warriors.

ST. JOSEPH’S 5, LASELL 0: Kartikeya Swarup, Austin Bell and Cody Elliott each scored first-half goals to lead the Monks (13-1-4, 8-0-1) past the Lasers (1-16, 0-9) at Deering High School in Portland.

Rory Twomey and Trevor Lopes each added second-half goals for the Monks. JoJo Strobino finished with a pair of assists.

Blake Mullen and Zack Moody did not make a save while combining on the shutout for the Monks, who outshot the Lasers 25-2.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 8, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Rachel Berkowsky scored three goals to lead the Warriors (10-3-2, 5-0-1) to a Little East victory over the Huskies (5-11, 0-6) in Gorham.

Taylor Canastra made five saves in the first half and Olivia Mull stopped 16 shots in the second half for the Huskies, who were outshot 35-2 in the game.

LASELL 5, ST. JOSEPH’S 2: Megan Cullen scored twice in the opening 19 minutes and finished with four goals for the Lasers (13-2-1, 9-0-1) as they beat the Monks (9-5-3, 6-1-3) in a GNAC game at Deering High School in Portland.

Haley DaGraca scored for the Monks off an assist from Emily DeLuca to cut the deficit to 2-1 with 10:52 left in the first half.

DaGraca added another goal off an assist from Sarah Comtois to make it 4-2 with 21:16 left in the game.

ROGER WILLIAMS 2, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 0: Ericca Broderick and Jenna Hart each scored goals to lift the Gulls (9-6-2, 6-0-2) to a Commonwealth Coast win over the Nor’easters (9-5-1, 5-2-1) in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Brielle Robinson finished with five saves for the Nor’easters, who were outshot 14-4 by the Gulls.

HAMILTON 1, COLBY 0: Amanda Becker scored off a rebound of Ali Clarke’s shot with 4:52 left in the second half to lift the Continentals (5-7-3, 3-7-1) to a NESCAC win over the Polar Bears (6-9, 1-9) in Waterville.

Samantha Rizzo finished with 12 saves for the Polar Bears, who were outshot 26-6 by Hamilton in the game.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0, BOWDOIN 0: Rachel Stout made four saves for the Polar Bears (9-4-1, 5-3-1) and Bryanna Montalvo stopped seven shots for the Camels (9-4-1, 4-4-1) as the teams played to a scoreless tie in a NESCAC game at Brunswick.

BOWDOIN 2, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0: Kimmy Ganong and Kara Finnerty each scored goals for the Polar Bears (11-3, 6-3) in a NESCAC win over the Camels (4-10, 2-7) at Brunswick.

Ganong opened the scoring in the 20th minute with an assist from Finnerty, who added an insurance goal for the Polar Bears in the 42nd minute.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 7, SALVE REGINA 1: Nicole Matarozzo scored three goals and Vonde Saunders added two goals and two assists for the Nor’easters (15-2, 10-0) as they cruised to a Commonwealth Coast win over the Seahawks (8-8, 4-6) in Biddeford.

Kendra MacDonald and Brenna Sicard each scored one goal, and MacDonald also had one assist for the Nor’easters, who led 4-1 at halftime.

ST. JOSEPH’S 6, RIVIER 0: Kelsey Dumond scored a pair of goals and Libby Pomerleau had a goal and three assists as the Monks (11-5, 5-1) beat the Raiders (4-11, 1-5) in a GNAC game at Nashua, New Hampshire.

Elyse Caiazzo and Kara Kelly added one goal and one assist apiece, and Katie Hunter also scored a goal for the Monks, who led 4-0 at halftime.

MIDDLEBURY 3, BATES 0: Grace Jennings had a goal and two assists as the Panthers (11-3, 6-3 NESCAC) beat the visiting Bobcats (8-6, 3-6).

Lauren Schweppe had two goals for Middlebury, which ended the Bobcats three-game winning streak.

FITCHBURG STATE 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Erin Morrisey scored a pair of second-half goals to lead the Falcons (12-4, 7-4) past the Huskies (7-11, 6-5) in a Little East Conference game at Gorham.

USM keeper Amanda Kasbohm made three saves and Morgan Gray added a defensive save for the Huskies, who were outshot 10-4 by the Falcons.

HAMILTON 4, COLBY 1: Michaela Giuttari scored a goal in each half as the Continentals (10-4, 7-3 NESCAC) beat the Mules (6-8, 2-7) in Waterville.

Lizzie Clark added a first-half goal and Margaret Revera a second-half goal as Hamilton took a 4-0 lead. Clarke also had two assists and Giuttari added one assist.

Meredith Keenan scored an unassisted goal for Colby.

WOMEN’S RUGBY

BOWDOIN 99, SACRED HEART 0: Mackenzie Philbrick had four tries to lead a dominating offensive performance as the Polar Bears (4-1) shut out the Pioneers (2-4) at Brunswick.

Paige Pfannenstiel and Georgia each had three tries as the Polar Bears opened a 36-0 halftime lead.
