Police were still looking Saturday for two men who they believe invaded two Bangor homes early Friday and then robbed a Hermon convenience store after threatening to kill the clerk.

The two home invasions happened less than an hour apart. In the first incident, the men forced their way into a Lincoln Street apartment after midnight Thursday but were scared off when the resident confronted them with a weapon. Soon thereafter, a Bolling Drive resident suffered minor injuries after struggling with two men who entered his home and demanded drugs or money.

Then just before 3 a.m. Friday, two men wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks partially obscuring their faces robbed the convenience store at Dysart’s Restaurant and Truck Stop, a popular establishment just off of Interstate 95 in Hermon. Surveillance video shows the men approaching the counter after other customers had left.

Maine State Police Trooper David Yankowsky said the men told the clerk they would kill him and anyone else in the store if he didn’t hand over cash. The clerk immediately retreated into a small office behind the counter, after which the robbers threw the cash register onto the floor and escaped with $400 to $500, Yankowsky said.

The men were observed getting into a light-colored sedan, possibly a Chevy, Yankowsky said Saturday.

Maine State Police released a copy of the surveillance video in hopes that the public could help identify the individuals.

“These two guys look like they also made the two home invasions in Bangor, so doesn’t look like they are going to stop any time soon,” Yankowsky said.

No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning in any of the incidents.

Anyone with information about the robbery or home invasions is asked to call either Maine State Police’s Bangor office at 973-3700 or the Bangor Police Department at 947-7384.
