BOSTON — The 24th-ranked University of New England women’s basketball team had six players in double figures and rolled to a 95-42 victory Wednesday night over Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference opener.

Jocelyn Chaput came off the bench to score a game-high 17 points, while Olivia Allrich had 11 points and 18 rebounds for the Nor’easters (3-2), who outrebounded Wentworth, 54-24.

Sam MacDonald had 15 points, knocking down three 3-pointers, and Sadie Nelson and Lindsey Howland had 13 apiece. Howland also had seven rebounds and five assists. Kristie McNall put in 12.

(1) NOTRE DAME 73, IOWA 58: Brianna Turner scored 15 points, Arike Ogunbowale added 14 points and the visiting Irish (7-0) beat Iowa (5-3) at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Lindsay Allen added 11 points for the Irish. They had 42 points in the paint and scored 21 points off 23 Hawkeyes’ turnovers.

(8) FLORIDA STATE 75, MINNESOTA 61: Nicole Ekhomu scored 16 points and Ivey Slaughter had 14 points and 10 rebounds to help Florida State (7-1) beat the host Gophers (4-3) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

WENTWORTH 44, UNE 40: Ben Kizel made the go-ahead free throw with 28 seconds left and the Beavers (2-2, 1-0 CCC) held on to beat the Nor’easters (1-5, 0-1) in Boston.

Trailing 40-39 with just under 30 seconds left, Kizel was fouled by Nor’easter forward Sam Thomas. After Kizel made both free throws UNE had a chance to take the lead, but Drew Coveney missed a layup with 13 seconds left. Matt Vartanian made three free throws in the final 10 seconds to seal the win for Wentworth. Sam Knollmeyer scored a game-high 12 points for Wentworth to go along with seven rebounds. Thomas had eight points and eight rebounds to lead the Nor’easters.

BABSON 87, BATES 53: Nick Comenale scored a game-high 20 points, knocking down four 3-pointers as the No. 2 ranked Beavers (7-0) cruised over the Bobcats (3-2) at Babson Park in Massachusetts.

Malcom Delpeche and Max Hummel were the only scorers to reach double figures for Bates, each scoring 10 points. Delpeche also had six rebounds and five blocks.

(13) INDIANA 76, (3) NORTH CAROLINA 67: O.G. Anunoby scored 16 points, James Blackmon Jr. had 14 and Robert Johnson added 11, leading Indiana (5-1) past North Carolina (7-1) at Bloomington, Indiana.

(7) VIRGINIA 63, OHIO STATE 61: London Perrantes scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half and Virginia overcame a sloppy performance to rally at Ohio State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

(9) BAYLOR 79, SAM HOUSTON STATE 45: Reserve King McClure scored 14 points and Baylor remained unbeaten with a victory at Waco, Texas.

(14) LOUISVILLE 71, (15) PURDUE 64: Ray Spalding and Mangok Mathiang each scored 11 points to help Louisville win at home in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

(16) ARIZONA 85, TEXAS SOUTHERN 63: Lauri Markkanen scored 19 points, helping host Arizona bounce back from its first loss of the season.
