CLAREMONT, N.H. — A woman who wanted her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend killed and spoke to an undercover police officer about it was arraigned Thursday in the murder-for-hire plot, authorities said.

Monique Earle was arrested Wednesday in Claremont on charges of conspiracy and solicitation to commit murder.

Police Chief Alexander Scott said the 20-year-old Earle, who was staying in a homeless shelter in town, had tried to hire someone to kill her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. Court documents say Earle talked to another resident at the shelter about plans to kidnap, drug and rape the woman.

“I literally want this girl dead,” she told the resident, according to a police affidavit.

The resident, who told Earle that her ex-boyfriend was affiliated with the Hells Angels motorcycle group and that she “witnessed scary things,” said she would see what she could do to contact someone about Earle’s wishes. Earle wrote her wishes down on a piece of paper and gave her the paper, authorities said.

The resident ended up speaking with police. An undercover officer talked to Earle. Court documents say Earle showed the officer where the girlfriend lived and worked and offered the officer $500.

Earle was arraigned Thursday and was assigned a public defender, although a clerk didn’t know which one. She didn’t enter a plea. Her bail was set at $100,000. She couldn’t be reached for comment by telephone while in custody.
