Ogunquit residents are helping out Hurricane Harvey victims with a townwide diaper drive, collecting diapers, wipes, formula and other items to send to the Texas Diaper Bank.
“This is a great opportunity for our small community to come together to make a big impact for those in need,” reads a flier posted on the town website by diaper drive organizer Allison Ramsey.
One local nonprofit, Ogunquit Spirit of Giving, agreed to give all the money raised at an upcoming event for its group, which gives out toys to disadvantaged children, to the local diaper drive.
Several businesses in the seaside vacation spot, including ice cream shops and local innkeepers, were touting the diaper drive on their Facebook pages and urging people to drop off diapers at The Dunaway Center at 23 School St.
The diapers will be collected through Sept. 16 and shipped to the San Antonio-based Texas Diaper Bank.
