On view through June 12 at the museum in downtown Bangor, the exhibition showcases artists working within 50 miles of Interstate 95 from Maine to Rhode Island.

Museum director George Kinghorn served as one of the jurors for the show. Other jurors were John Bailly, a painter, and Wendy Wischer, a sculptor and installation artist.

The three judged art submitted by 144 artists. In the end, they selected work from 44 artists. Of those 44, 21 are from Massachusetts, 17 from Maine, four from Rhode Island and two from New Hampshire.

At noon Wednesday, Kinghorn will highlight works in the show during a lunch-hour gallery talk.

The museum is at 40 Harlow St., Bangor. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Admission is free. For information, visit www.umma.umaine.edu or call 561-3350.
