• MOVIE NIGHT

DETAILS: The first of many movies in the UFF Bay One Food Hub. Watch the Canadian cult classic, “Strange Brew.” Check out the new tasting room next door in Bay Two.

• FALL BEER NIGHT

WHEN: Restaurant opens at 7:30 a.m.

WHERE: Taco Escobarr, 548 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $3 pours

DETAILS: Pouring Gritty’s Halloween, Spaten Octoberfest, Peak Fall

• MAINE BEER TOURS

WHEN: 11:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: Pick up and drop off in front of Portland Lobster Co., 180 Commercial St.

HOW MUCH: $54; tickets at mainebeertours.com/tours.

DETAILS: Stops include Rising Tide Brewing Co., Maine Craft Distilling, Sebago Brewing Co. and Shipyard Brewing Co.

• IPA WAR

WHEN: Opens at 4 p.m.

WHERE: LFK, 188A State St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go.

DETAILS: The IPA war, various brewers bring their best IPAs to the battle.

• THE DARK KNIGHT

WHEN: Not available.

WHERE: Little Tap House, 106 High St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go.

DETAILS: A tap takeover with all beers dark and mysterious. Porters, stouts and black IPAs are the stars here. 

• REBEL HAPPY HOUR

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: Ri Ra Irish Pub & Restaurant, 72 Commercial St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go.

DETAILS: Join the Brewers of Samuel Adams as we introduce a brand new IPA to the city of Portland.

NOV. 9

• THREE-MILE BREWERY RUNNING TOUR

WHEN: Meet at 11:45 a.m.

WHERE: The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $40, includes samples and a snack; tickets at portcity runningtours.com.

DETAILS: Stops at Rising Tide, Urban Farm Fermentory and Sebago.

• PORT CITY RUNNING TOUR BEER WEEK SCAVENGER HUNT

WHEN: 1 p.m.

WHERE: Meet at Rising Tide Brewing Co., 103 Fox St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $20; To register and for more information: pcrt.eventbrite.com

DETAILS: You and a team of your friends, traverse the Portland peninsula on foot, while solving beer and history related trivia questions to complete a series of challenges. Prizes for the top teams, beer drinking bonus challenges, and an after party. This scavenger hunt will test your knowledge, and Google skills, as you travel up to 5 miles through the streets of Portland, visiting bars, breweries and landmarks in an attempt to be the fastest team to complete the challenge. Must be 21 or older to participate.

• WHERE THE WILD BIERS ARE (SOUR BIER FEST)

WHEN: Noon

WHERE: Novare Res Bier Cafe, 4 Canal Plaza, Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go.

DETAILS: “There should be a place where only the things you want to happen, happen.” – Maurice Sendak, “Where the Wild Things Are.” And that place is Novare Res for the Sour Bier Fest.

• NAPPI SESSION NIGHT

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: Nosh Kitchen Bar, 551 Congress St., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Beer tasting.

• GREAT LOST BEAR: THE NEWEST MAINE BREWERIES

WHEN: Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

WHERE: Great Lost Bear, 540 Forest Ave., Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Beer tasting and specials

• THE MAINE BREW BUS CASCO FIASCO TOUR

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WHERE: Pick up and drop off at Sebago Brew Pub, 211 Fore St., Portland

HOW MUCH: $60; For tickets go to themainebrewbus.com/tours.

DETAILS: On this tour, visit four breweries in the Greater Portland area to discover the wide variety of styles and flavors of hand-crafted beers at Allagash Brewing Co., The Run of the Mill Public House & Brewery, Rising Tide Brewing Co. and Sebago Brewing Co. You will receive beer samples at all locations and a full lunch at The Run of the Mill Public House & Brewery, and a tour of at least one of the breweries.
