URBAN BEER FASHION

DETAILS: Models for Urban Outfitters will showcase a collection of clothing and goods for the modern beer drinker. Evil Twin Hipster Ale will be served. Winner of the costume contest for best-dressed hipster wins two tickets to the Tragically Hip show that night. (Judging at 8 p.m.)

 

ALLAGASH & SIERRA NEVADA TAP TAKEOVER

WHEN: 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

WHERE: Nosh Kitchen Bar, 551 Congress St., Portland; 553-2227

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Join the staff of Nosh Kitchen Bar as they host two legendary breweries in a tap takeover.

 

BAXTER BREWING CO. PRESENTS THE SQUID JIGGERS

WHEN: 8 p.m.

WHERE: Bull Feeney's, 375 Fore St., Portland; 773-7210

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go (no cover).

DETAILS: Folk infused with barley, sugar, yeast, hops and water, and left to ferment. Sample 11 local craft brews.

 

RISING TIDE SHOWCASE

WHEN: 4 p.m.

WHERE: Novare Res Bier Cafe, 4 Canal Plaza, Portland; 761-2437

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Browne Trading Co. will create food pairings to go with the Rising Tide brews.

 

GRITTY'S & LONG TRAIL NIGHT

WHEN: 6 to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Pat's Pizza, 30 Market St., Portland; 699-4455

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Sampling of Gritty's and Long Trail, free 1-ounce tastes, beer swag giveaways.

 

3 DOOR SHUFFLE

WHEN: 4 to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Longfellow Square, Portland

HOW MUCH: Pay as you go

DETAILS: Stop in at Longfellow Square and experience Pai Men Miyake, Petite Jacqueline and LFK. Each establishment will offer a different Allagash beer paired with a small dish representative of each restaurant's style. The Allagash pairing at LFK will be a beer and Belgian Genever pairing featuring Diep 9.

 

WASHOUT WASHERS

WHEN: 7 to 10 p.m.

WHERE: The Run of the Mill, 100 Main St., Saco

HOW MUCH: $12 per team of two

DETAILS: Sample fine Maine beers (Sebago, Rising Tide, Baxter, Marshall Wharf) from a Firkin. Drink with brewery owners and brewers.

SMUTTYNOSE TAP TAKEOVER

BEER & CHOCOLATE TASTING

DETAILS: Local chocolatier Dean's Sweets will be making beer truffles to pair with some selections from the Bier Cellar.
