Pemaquid Paddlers

9 a.m. in Bristol Mills

The Pemaquid Paddlers are celebrating their 10th year of warm-weather Tuesday paddles. All trips last two to three hours. The trips are easy to moderate in difficulty. Participants must provide their own canoe or kayak and wear a life jacket. All trips are free and open to the public. Call 677-6380 or email pemaquidpaddlers@aol.com. The put-in this week is at the Bristol Mills boat launch on Route 130, approximately 5.5 miles south of Damariscotta.

THURSDAY

Shell Pond Walk

9 a.m. in Lovell

The Greater Lovell Land Trust offers a variety of programs this summer. Trained volunteer docents lead all of the land trust's guided walks. The walks are free and prior registration is not necessary. Unless otherwise indicated, walks are geared for audiences of all ages, and children accompanied by parents are always welcome. For more information, email bridie.mcgreavy@maine.edu or call the office at 925-1056. The land trust is located in Lovell Village at 208 Main St. across from the intersection of routes 5 and 93.

Paddle Festival

All day, July 14, in Kennebunkport

The Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport will host the first Mid-Summer Paddle Festival. The festival will feature live music, demos and the Paddle Battle, a fun race using kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, canoes or surfboards. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kennebunkport Fire Department. For more information, go to www.mainesportscommission.com.
