An anonymous donor has issued a challenge to pay off the remaining debt that was incurred when the foundation at Bridgton's historic First Congregational Church needed repairs. Trustees recently launched a campaign to raise $46,000, the amount needed to take advantage of the challenge. All donations received by the end of May will be matched two-for-one. The church is located at 33 South High St. and is the site of many community functions and is also the meeting place for several organizations. To donate to the campaign, or for more information, call 647-3936 or visit www.bridgtonucc.org.
