Man almost loses his nose in Lubec bar fight

LUBEC -- Police are investigating a double stabbing at a Lubec bar in which one victim almost had his nose cut off.

Police say it started with an argument at Phinney's Bar just before midnight Wednesday.

Two men got into a fight and one was stabbed.

Police tell WABI-TV that a second man almost had his nose cut off when he tried to intervene.

Both men were taken to Down East Community Hospital in Machias.

Police say 42-year-old Peter Lyons of Trescott is charged with aggravated assault.
