FARMINGTON — A Vassalboro man was sentenced to serve two years of an eight-year prison term for the robbery of a Kingfield general store in June.

Matthew Santamore, 22, was convicted of acting as an accomplice in a robbery last year of Tranten’s Too, when he drove the getaway car.

He and the other man convicted in the robbery stole about $800 cash that they split.

Kaleb Bowring, 20, who used a pellet gun during the robbery, pleaded guilty but will not be sentenced until next month.

Justice Michaela Murphy on Friday also sentenced Santamore to four years probation and to have no contact with Bowring, according to Franklin County Court documents.

Assistant District Attorney Josh Robbins said the prosecution recommended the sentence of two years based on the sentences of others in Maine convicted of robbery who are around Santamore’s age.
