PORTLAND — Maine's population grew by 4.2 percent between 2000 and 2010, according to figures released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The state's total population is 1,328,361, up from 1,274,923 a decade ago. Maine is the 41st most populous state, down from 40th in the previous census.
Nationally, the population grew 9.7 percent to 308,745,538.
The number of House of Representatives seats for Maine remains unchanged at two.
