From staff reports
Scott Descoteaux has submitted his resignation as Biddeford High's head football coach after six seasons.
Descoteaux, 39, compiled a record of 23-28, including Western Class A playoff appearances in 2007, 2009 and 2010. His best season was 2010, when the Tigers were 7-1 in the regular season before losing to Scarborough in the first round of the playoffs.
Descoteaux has a masters degree and is interested in going into administration.
"I really don't think it has anything to do with football," Biddeford athletic director Dennis Walton said of Descoteaux's resignation. "Scott's looking to go into a different career path that wouldn't leave time for football."
Before becoming head coach, Descoteaux was an assistant for eight seasons under Brian Curit. He was previously an assistant at Bangor and Noble.
