An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, but the man’s death is not considered suspicious.

Police say they do not believe the death of a man whose body was found in a marsh Monday morning is suspicious, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The Maine Medical Examiner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday.

The man is described as 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and with long brown hair. Police are reviewing missing-persons reports in an effort to determine his identity.

The body was found in Goosefare Brook, in the Ocean Park neighborhood, about 8 a.m. by workers of the nearby wastewater facility, authorities said.

Local police and Maine State Police are investigating the discovery. Old Orchard Beach police called on the state police, who investigate most of the state’s homicides and cases in which the manner of death is unknown.

Anyone with information on who the man is should call the state police barracks in Gray at 1-800-228-0857.
