Portland's Pihcintu MultiCultural Chorus, comprising 32 refugee and immigrant girls from 17 countries, posted its "Malala's Song" on YouTube this morning.
The music video was written by chorus director Con Fullam and recorded last week by volunteers from several local sound and video companies. It honors Malala Yousafzai, 15, an advocate for women's rights in Pakistan who was shot by Taliban terrorists while riding a bus home from school on Oct. 9.
The production by Pihcintu, which is Passamaquoddy Indian for "when we sing, our voices carry far," was featured last week in a column by Bill Nemitz.
