English teachers are challenged while instructing the difference between “compliment” and “complement.”
“I like a compliment and complete does not have an ‘i’ ” may help. Spell check offers no aid.
I give this introduction as a way to bring attention to the picturesque panel at the renovation of the Eastern Prom park.
The beautiful sign reads, “This project returns the Park to the period of historic significance between 1890-1930 while complimenting current use.”
The project will attract more people to this park, and its beauty will complement the surroundings.
My compliments to the sign maker; the tablet is handsome.
