Coyotes assign two players to Pirates

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Phoenix Coyotes assigned forwards Andy Miele and Jordan Szwarz to the Portland Pirates, the club’s AHL affiliate.

Miele, the 2011 Hobey Baker Award winner as college hockey’s top player, has 36 goals and 74 assists in his two seasons with the Pirates.

Szwarz, who was hampered by a shoulder injury last season, has 18 goals and 35 assists in two seasons with the Pirates.

There are 25 players remaining in the Coyotes’ training camp.
