PORTLAND — Kris Newberry scored two goals as the Connecticut Whale snapped the Portland Pirates’ four-game win streak with a 6-1 win Tuesday night at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Kelsey Tessier, J.T. Miller, Brandon Segal and Logan Pyett also scored as Connecticut beat Portland for the first time in four games this season.
Defenseman Mathieu Brodeur scored early in the second period for the Pirates to forge a short-lived 1-1 tie.
