The Portland Elks Lodge will hold its annual foul shooting contest Jan. 6 at McAuley High School, 631 Stevens Ave. Registration will be held at 9 a.m. and shooting will start at 9:45 a.m. The event offers competition in three boys' and girls' divisions of three age groups: 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13. Local winners will advance to a regional shoot-off Jan. 13 in Wells. For more information, contact Bruce Jordan at 773-6426 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
Lighthouse Lacrosse will offer indoor skills and scrimmage sessions for boys at the Seacoast United facilities in York and Hampton, N.H., beginning Jan. 6. Sessions will be held at each location in three age groups: U11 ($95), U13 ($130) and U15 ($130). Each session runs for eight weeks. Space is limited to 20 per group.
