GORHAM - Emily Michaud scored what proved to be the winner with 12:33 left and Cheverus held on for a 3-1 win over Gorham in an SMAA field hockey game Friday.

Elizabeth Ford of Cheverus (5-1) opened the scoring 5:20 into the game. Elyse Caiazzo got an insurance goal with three minutes left.
Gorham (2-3-1) cut the deficit to 2-1 when Charlotte Smith scored on an assist from Darcie Brown with nine minutes remaining.
FALMOUTH 2, LAKE REGION 0: Jillian Rothweiler scored late in the first half and Mikey Richards added a goal in the second half as the Yachtsmen (4-1) beat the Lakers (4-2) at Naples.
DEERING 1, WINDHAM 0: Kristen Francouer scored with 17:44 remaining to lift the Rams (2-4-1) over the Eagles (2-5) at Portland.
Windham goalie Tyra Boucher finished with 10 saves.
MASSABESIC 1, BONNY EAGLE 0: Jackie Guillemette scored an unassisted goal with 13:14 remaining to put the Mustangs (6-1) on top of the Scots (3-2-2) at Waterboro.
WESTBROOK 4, PORTLAND 1: Micaela LeBeau and Abby St. Clair scored two goals apiece as the Blue Blazes (4-3) pulled away from the Bulldogs (1-5) in the second half at Fitzpatrick Stadium.
Portland cut the deficit to 2-1 when Tori Clayton scored on an assist from Gabrielle Wagabaza 20 seconds into the second half, but Westbrook responded four minutes later.
Nicole Miranda finished with seven saves for Westbrook. Portland goalie Gianna Gaudet stopped nine shots.
MARSHWOOD 6, MCAULEY 0: Karissa Boesch scored a pair of goals as the Hawks (6-1) downed the Lions (0-5) at South Berwick.
Ashley Tice, Lindsey Poirier, Jenna Kashmer and Hannah Costin each added a goal.
BIDDEFORD 4, CHEVERUS 1: Cassie Ellis, Lexi Paquette and Peyton Janelle scored first-half goals as the Tigers (4-0-1) cruised past the Stags (0-5) at Biddeford.
Erin Martin added a goal in the second half. Julia Landry scored for the Stags, and Anna Niedermeyer made 16 saves.
WAYNFLETE 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Leigh Fernandez, Marijke Rowse and Cat Johnson scored as the Flyers (3-0-1) beat the Patriots (1-4) at Portland.
Isabel Canning assisted on two goals and Sofia Canning collected one assist.
Waynflete keeper Helen Gray-Bauer made two saves. Anna Knapp stopped 10 shots for Gray-New Gloucester.
GORHAM 3, WESTBROOK 1: Emily Lewis scored three times in the first 15 minutes, leading the host Rams (4-1) past the Blue Blazes (1-4).
Sophie Manning converted a penalty kick for Westbrook later in the first half.
Renae Staples made five saves for Gorham. Samantha Russell stopped 18 shots for Westbrook.
PORTLAND 2, BONNY EAGLE 0: Kate Johnson scored from Chessa Hoekstra in the first half, Madison Bolduc added a goal early in the second half and the Bulldogs (3-1) shut out the Scots (0-4) at Standish.
Zoe Rivera made seven saves for Portland; Lilly Cates made eight for Bonny Eagle.
WELLS 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Sophie Lamb had three goals and an assist to pace the Warriors (3-2-1) over the visiting Seagulls (0-5).
Alison Furness and Maddie Taylor also scored for Wells. Abby Dubois got both Old Orchard goals.
POLAND 3, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Emily Bolduc scored one goal and assisted on two others to lead the Knights (3-1) past the Hawks (2-3) at Poland.
Lindsey Theriault gave Poland a 3-1 lead with 5:09 left in regulation.
Courtney Ryan responded with her second goal of the game just one minute later.
HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 6, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 5: Reagan Paul scored four goals, including one in overtime, to lift the Knights (2-2) over the Lions (0-3) at Charleston.
Marisa Lane and Kyrie Austin had two goals apiece for Greater Portland Christian. Clarissa Jones also scored.
GORHAM 3, WINDHAM 0: Charlene Landry led the offense and Hallye Anderson finished with 10 kills and six rotation points for the Rams (2-4) against the Eagles (2-3) at Windham.
Tori Small added four aces and 11 points on 15 serves as Gorham won by scores of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-23. Kate Curley finished with four aces and nine points on 14 serves.
BIDDEFORD 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Bri Collard had six of Biddeford's 18 aces as the Tigers (2-3) won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-11, 25-14, at South Portland (0-6).
South Portland was led by Holly Black with seven kills and two blocks.
