Maine Colleges: Maine earns another baseball sweep

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 19, UNE 18: Hannah Tavella scored five goals, and Gina Newsom finished with four goals and three assists for UNE (5-7, 3-2 Commonwealth Coast), but the Nor'easters' late rally fell short against the Golden Bears (9-4, 4-1) at Springfield, Mass.

BOWDOIN 9, WESLEYAN 4: Jordan Smith scored four goals to propel the Polar Bears (9-2, 6-2 NESCAC) past the Cardinals (4-8, 0-7) at Middletown, Conn.

Lindsay Picard added two goals and two assists.

COLBY 11, WILLIAMS 9: Lindsay McCabe and Alex Mintz scored overtime goals to help the Mules (9-1, 6-1 NESCAC) get past the Ephs (7-5, 2-5) at Williamstown, Mass.

MEN'S LACROSSE

SOUTHERN MAINE 11, WESTERN CONNECTICUT 7: Kayle Hamilton scored four goals to power the Huskies (5-7, 1-2 Little East) past the Colonials (7-5, 1-2) at Gorham.

ST. JOSEPH'S 9, DANIEL WEBSTER 3: Jake O'Brien, Andrew Sullivan and Austin Watts scored two goals each to pace St. Joseph's (8-7, 7-1 GNAC) in a win over Daniel Webster (1-10, 0-8) at Nashua, N.H.

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 20, UNE 4: Tyler Thomas had two assists for the Nor'easters (9-4, 3-2 Commonwealth Coast) in a loss to the Golden Bears (7-5, 5-0) at Springfield, Mass.

BOWDOIN 6, WESLEYAN 5: Dan Hanley's goal with 1:47 left in overtime lifted the Polar Bears (7-4, 5-3 NESCAC) over the Cardinals (8-3, 4-3) at Brunswick.

WILLIAMS 11, COLBY 8: Chip Grossman scored three goals, and Greg McKillop had two goals and four assists for Colby (5-7, 1-6 NESCAC) in a loss to the Ephs (5-5, 3-4) at Waterville.
