SANFORD - Pitcher Samantha Adams hit a two-out homer in the eighth inning as Sanford earned a 3-2 win over previously undefeated Scarborough in an SMAA softball game Monday.
Adams struck out 12, walked two and surrendered six hits as Sanford improved to 5-3.
Scarborough pitcher Erin Giles allowed only four hits. Grace Farnkoff and Alyssa Williamson each had two hits for the Red Storm (6-1).
BIDDEFORD 8, MARSHWOOD 0: Erin Martin hit a two-run triple in the first inning and Charlotte White followed with an RBI double as the Tigers (5-3) took control early against the Hawks (5-2) at Biddeford.
Abbie Paquette scattered six hits, struck out five and walked two.
BONNY EAGLE 13, MASSABESIC 5: Allison Pike struck out five and gave up five hits as the Scots (4-4) downed the Mustangs (4-4) at Standish.
Becca Howell tripled twice and drove in two runs.
Allison Pillar, Breanna Lifland and Lindsey Gammon also had two RBI.
WESTBROOK 5, CHEVERUS 4: Kayla Tibbetts singled home Kerigan Demers in the fifth inning for what proved to be the winning run as the Blue Blazes (5-3) edged the Stags (5-2) at Westbrook.
Katie Clark had a three-run double for Westbrook in the second inning.
Libby DesRuisseaux hit an RBI triple for Cheverus.
KENNEBUNK 10, PORTLAND 1: Carinn Burns struck out nine while throwing a four-hitter, and Liz Cable drove in four runs to lead the Rams (3-3) past the Bulldogs (2-7) at Portland.
Meg Cadigan added two hits and three RBI for the Rams, who broke the game open with a five-run fifth.
Portland's run came in the seventh inning when Leanne Reichert tripled and scored on an error.
SOUTH PORTLAND 18, MCAULEY 0: Emily Gray was 4 for 4 as the Red Riots (6-2) rolled past the Lions (1-6) at South Portland.
Erin Bogdanovich struck out 13 and surrendered just one hit. Danica Gleason hit a two-run homer.
GORHAM 10, DEERING 3: Patty Smith and Emily DeLuca each had a pair of RBI to lead Gorham (2-5) past visiting Deering (0-8).
Erin Smith went 3 for 5 for Gorham.
CAPE ELIZABETH 9, WELLS 0: Kate Rabasca struck out six and scattered six hits as the Capers (7-0) shut out the Warriors (5-4) at Cape Elizabeth.
Mary Perkins had two doubles and two RBI, and Ashley Tinsman hit a two-run homer.
Maddie Taylor had a pair of hits for Wells.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 5, YARMOUTH 3: Sarah Harriman homered and tossed a four-hitter for the Raiders (9-0) in a win over the Clippers (4-4) at Yarmouth.
Harriman's home run followed one by Maddie Pearson and put Fryeburg up 4-1 in the fifth.
Kallie Hutchinson answered in the bottom of the fifth with what appeared to be a three-run home run, but one runner was called out for missing a base.
Harriman finished with nine strikeouts.
GREELY 19, FREEPORT 3: Danielle Cimino hit a pair of home runs and struck out 11 as the Rangers (7-2) cruised past the Falcons (3-5) in six innings at Freeport.
Elyse Dinan and Miranda Moore also homered and finished with two hits apiece for Greely.
Freeport was led by Necole Harrison with three hits, including a triple, an RBI and a run.
FALMOUTH 14, LAKE REGION 1: Julia Treadwell and Elizabeth Walker each homered for the Yachtsmen (4-3) in a five-inning win over the Lakers (0-6) at Naples.
Treadwell had five strikeouts and no walks while throwing a four-hitter.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, YORK 2: Maria Valente scattered 10 hits as the Patriots (6-3) beat the Wildcats (1-6) at York.
Ivy Sheehan, Stephanie Rundlett and Hannah Brown had two hits apiece for York.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 11, TRAIP ACADEMY 10: Mae Toohey drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Seagulls (1-5) against the Rangers (2-6) at Old Orchard Beach.
OOB scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-4 lead, highlighted by Tianna Zukowski's grand slam.
Traip shortstop Alli Barrett went 4 for 5 and had six assists. The Rangers tied the game with a four-run rally in the top of the seventh.
POLAND 13, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Kolby Woods pitched a three-hitter to lead the Knights (5-3) over Sacopee Valley (1-6) at Poland.
Kelsey DeBurra and Haley Whitworth homered for Poland.
MEDOMAK VALLEY 15, CAMDEN HILLS 3: Abby Maguire had three hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs as the Panthers (6-2) downed the Windjammers (4-4) in six innings at Waldoboro.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 11, MORSE 4: Abby Farrin had three singles and hit a two-run homer to lead the Eagles (5-3) past the Shipbuilders (1-7) at Bath.
Miranda Achorn hit a three-run homer for Lincoln, and Barrett Campbell added a solo homer.
OAK HILL 18, BOOTHBAY 0: Kortni Michaud allowed just one hit through five innings as Oak Hill (5-2) shut out Boothbay (0-7) at Wales.
Grace Sabine led the offense with four RBI.
OCEANSIDE 24, MT. VIEW 6: Zoe Proctor had four hits and Kalyn Grover belted a pair of triples to lead Oceanside (8-0) to a win at Thorndike.
Paige Tyler struck out nine to earn the victory.
HALL-DALE 9, ST. DOMINIC 6: Becca Ackerson and Haley Houdlette each had a double and a single to lead the Bulldogs (4-3) to a win in Auburn.
Kelly Pomerleau tripled for the Saints (1-6).
GARDINER 16, MORSE 12: Ally Day poured in eight goals to power the Tigers (4-0) past the Shipbuilders (2-3) at Bath.
Brooke Davis added six goals for Gardiner, which jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first quarter.
Sophie Sreden had three goals, and Ruth Nadeau and Monica Frempong scored two apiece for Morse.
CONY 9, MT. ARARAT 8: Josie Lee and Haley Quirion scored three goals apiece to lift the Rams (3-3) over the Eagles (3-3) at Topsham.
Mt. Ararat was paced by Carly Raymond, Rebecca Schuman and Katie Labbay with two goals each.
MESSALONSKEE 16, LEWISTON 6: Sydney Gagne scored six goals to lead the visiting Eagles to a win.
Kristen Kern added four goals for Messalonskee (6-0). Mikayla Turner scored three goals, and Allyson Fisching and Natalie St. Pierre each had one. Lily Delisle finished with three assists, and Izzy Skinner made five saves.
Kelsey Dumond had three goals for Lewiston (3-2).
