AMHERST, Mass. – Emilie Teuscher scored 18 points on 4-for-7 shooting from behind the 3-point arc Sunday to lead the University of Massachusetts to a 63-54 women’s basketball win over Maine at the Mullins Center.

The Minutewomen (2-8) built a 15-point lead in the first 15 minutes, powered by a trio of 3-pointers from Teuscher as UMass shot 5 for 10 from beyond the arc in the first half.

Maine got within 12 at the half before UMass opened the second half with a 9-1 run to stretch the lead to 37-17.

Ashleigh Roberts and Rebecca Knight came off the bench in the second half to help Maine (3-7) get closer.

Roberts scored all 10 of her points in the second half. Knight finished with a career-high nine points.

(1) BAYLOR 73, ST. JOHN’S 59: Brittney Griner had 17 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks to help the Bears (10-0) beat the Red Storm (5-5) in the Maggie Dixon Classic at New York.

(5) MARYLAND 78, GEORGE MASON 50: Alyssa Thomas had 18 points to lead four players in double figures as the Terrapins (11-0) beat the Patriots (6-3) at Fairfax, Va.

(6) DUKE 93, SC-UPSTATE 35: Elizabeth Williams scored 22 points on 10-of-10 shooting to lead four players in double figures as the host Blue Devils (7-2) drubbed the Spartans (1-8).

South Carolina-Upstate is in its first season of full Division I membership.

(7) TENNESSEE 84, (20) DEPAUL 61: Glory Johnson scored 16 points and Cierra Burdick added 15 to help the Vols (5-2) top the Blue Demons (8-2) in the Maggie Dixon Classic at New York.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN 75, (12) PURDUE 62: Point guard Brandie Baker scored all 16 of her points in the second half as the Chippewas (3-5) upset the visiting Boilermakers (7-3).

BOWDOIN 69, BATES 48: Will Hanley led the way for the Polar Bears with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Andrew Madlinger added 11 points to help Bowdoin (7-2) outpace rival Bates (5-3) at Brunswick.

The Polar Bears also got 10 points apiece from Bryan Hurley and Ryan O’Connell.

John Squires had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats, who played without leading scorer Ed Bogdanovich.

(16) ALABAMA 62, DETROIT 54: JaMychal Green scored 21 points to help the Crimson Tide (8-2) beat the visiting Titans (5-7) and snap a two-game skid.

MURRAY STATE 76, (21) MEMPHIS 72: Donte Poole connected on a career-high six 3-pointers and scored 20 points as the Racers (10-0) upset the host Tigers (5-3).
