State Treasurer David G. Lemoine recently announced the launch of a new Unclaimed Property website, www.maine.gov/unclaimed, which was developed and designed in conjunction with Information Resource of Maine (InforME) in Augusta.
“This new design should be more helpful to claimants,” Lemoine said. “The revamped Web site needed to be done in time for the heavy usage expected from our annual April/May publication of names.”
This year’s list includes more than 15,000 people and businesses that have money or stock coming back to them. The holder-filing portions of the unclaimed property Web site and the treasury Web site as a whole also will be updated over the coming months.
“I hope visitors to the new unclaimed property area will give us their feedback and help us to continue to improve our service to them,” Lemoine said.
