Current Predictions Record

Last week: 3-0

Season: 8-1

Lake Region (0-5) @ Cape Elizabeth (5-0) Saturday 1:30 p.m.

The Lakers have been under-achieving all season. They are a young and inexperienced team and their opponents have taken advantage of that.

The Capers are coming off another close game that nearly saw their unbeaten season come to an end. They were able to hold off Wells, 7-0. They should be able to get their offense back on track against Lake Region this week.

Prediction: Cape Elizabeth, 27-6

Sanford (1-4) @ Scarborough (0-5) Friday 7:00 p.m.

The Redskins have dropped four straight games and none of them have been very close. They have a tough football team, however, that is very physical. Their running game is extremely dangerous.

Scarborough has yet to win this season and they are coming off a big loss to Marshwood. They got shut out just when they were showing signs of improvement. Marshwood is a very good football team so the loss to them shouldn’t derail the Red Storm’s progress.

Prediction: Sanford, 20-17

Bonny Eagle (5-0) @ South Portland (0-5) Saturday 1:00 p.m.

There are no easy games in the SMAA. After falling, 34-7, to Cheverus last week the Red Riots get to face the defending Class A state champions this week.

Bonny Eagle is coming off a 35-0 win over Westbrook – a team that defeated South Portland, 8-0. Star backs Scott Proudman and Stan Watts didn’t play against the Blue Blazes and may continue to nurse injuries against South Portland. It shouldn’t matter. Scots quarterback Ryan Walker, a senior but first-year starter, is proving to be one of the top QBs in class A. He’s a threat to run and pass and should give South Portland fits.

Prediction: Bonny Eagle 32, South Portland 6
