On March 11, there were a lot of kids clowning around at the Blue Point Church in Scarborough.

The children were participating in a family service where skits based on scriptures were acted out by clowns.

The Sunday School classes met with Daisy the clown for three after-school sessions to rehearse. Daisy taught how clowns move, cheer people up and never talk (which was the toughest clowning lesson for this bunch).

The skits included “The Creation,” “The Good Samaritan,” “The Salt of the Earth,” and “Jacob’s Ladder.”

On Sunday three clowns accompanied by a half-dozen kids performed during the service as part of the Clown Ministry Service. The group emphasizes the joy of celebrating Christianity above the rules and regulations of organized worship.
