Scarborough Town Council has declared Saturday, April 21, Spring Cleaning of the Scarborough Marsh and Beaches Day.

The public is invited to participate in the annual spring cleanup of the Scarborough marsh and beaches. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at one of nine locations, from Route 1 to the shore, to pick up litter.

Areas to be cleaned are: Pine Point Beach, Pine Point Road and Ross Road, Audubon Center to Dunstan Landing, Route 1 near Anjon’s restaurant (high school age and above), the Eastern Trail, the Nonesuch River Marsh off Black Point Road, Libby River Marsh, Black Point Road, Ferry Beach (off Black Point Road) and Higgins Beach.

Bags are provided, and trash pickup is provided by the town. Volunteers should bring work gloves and wear boots. There will be volunteer coordinators at each location. This is the third year of the spring cleaning event.
