The Harlem Superstars are a talented group of basketball players whose main mission is to entertain children and their families through an exciting game of show-time basketball. The Superstars will face an all-star team made up of local celebrities on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at the South Portland High School.

Dancing, high-five’s and autograph sessions are just some of features at this event. The Superstars’ halftime show includes the children by bringing them out of the stands to participate for a chance to win a prize. These amazing athletes’ “showtime” dunks, razzmatazz passing, practical jokes, half-court shots and exciting tricks will keep fans on the edge of their seat. The Harlem Superstars offer something for everyone to enjoy.

Members of the Portland All Star Team will consist of former Portland Pirate and NHL Veteran Jay Mazur; Former WWF Wrestling Legend Scott “Scotty 2 Hotty” Garland, who hails from Westbrook; WCSH6 sports anchor Lee Goldberg; WGME 13 sports anchor Evans Boston; WMTW sports anchor Dave Guthro; WRED’S DJ Kid Corey; Auburn Mayor John Jenkins and there are more local celebrities to be announced.

In addition, Lucky, the Boston Celtics’ mascot will also be appearing at the game to entertain the crowd.

The Superstars boast two of the world’s best basketball comedians. Seasoned 10-year veteran Kevin “Showboat” Jackson’s amazing no-look shot is truly priceless, and that, along with his huge smile and his love for the game is what makes him a successful basketball comedian. The Superstars’ other standout player is a natural born comedian. Spend 10 minutes with Chris “Super Chicken” Turnquist and you will see why the kids love both him and his nickname “Super Chicken.”
