A total of 14 candidates in Cape Elizabeth are vying for four seats on the Town Council and three on the School Board.

One of the available seats on the council is held by Councilor Paul McKenney, who is stepping down at the end of this year, leaving a one-year unexpired term. Two candidates, Frank J. Governali of 18 Olde Ocean House Road, and Michael S. Jordan, of 59 Richmond Terrace, are seeking that seat.

The other three available seats are for three-year terms. They currently are held by councilors Sara W. Lennon, David Backer and James Rowe. Only Lennon, who lives at 54 Cranbrook Drive, is seeking re-election.

The three seats up for election on the School Board are currently held by members Patricia Brigham, Karen Burke and Peter H. Cotter. Only Cotter, of 21 Ocean House Road, is running again.

On the ballot with him will be John C. Christie III, 6 Albion Road; Frederic K. Sturtevant, of 9 Pond View Road; and Mary K. Williams-Hewitt, of 250 Ocean House Road; David C. Hillman, of 22 Cranbrook Drive; Richard B. Dunham, of 30 Ocean View Road; and Ruth Anne Haley, of 49 Brentwood Road.
