BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin women’s basketball team learned Sunday it will travel to Union, N.J., for the next round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
The Polar Bears (22-6) face host Kean State (28-1) in the sectional on Friday after advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first time in three years with a 65-43 second-round win over Western Connecticut State on Saturday.
“I’m really happy with the way we’re playing and the confidence we’re playing with,” Bowdoin Coach Adrienne Shibles said Saturday.
The other game in the sectional pits Rochester (21-6) against Christopher Newport (21-6). Game times and ticket information will be announced today.
The sectional semifinal winners meet Saturday, the winner heading to the Final Four on March 19-20 at Bloomington, Ill.
