FALMOUTH — Photographer Donald Verger announced he will donate a photograph titled “October Rose” to the fourth annual Pink Tie Ball, a fundraising event for the Maine affiliate of the nonprofit organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The ball and auction, which will be held on Sunday, March 20, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, will raise money for breast cancer research and education.

“I am glad to help support the vitally important work of the Maine affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” Verger said. “I hope ‘October Rose’ brings peace and good health to all who view it.”

The photograph, which is valued at $1,000, will be auctioned off during the event, along with other donated items.

Verger, who lives in Falmouth, has a history of donating photographs to nonprofit organizations, including several works that were auctioned to raise money for the Innocence Project in New York and UNICEF. A collection of his images are displayed at the various campuses of Mercy and Maine Medical Center hospitals.
