For the first time since Labor Day, Portland Sea Dogs fans, outfitted in coats and hoodies, filed into Hadlock Field this evening.
They applauded the players as they ran out to the foul line during the traditional pre-game introductions.
They listened to Jonathan Edwards sing the National Anthem and saw Stump Merrill throw out the first pitch.
And finally, it was time to watch baseball as the Sea Dogs began their 17th season in Portland.
The Sea Dogs and the Trenton Thunder took the game into extra innings, with Trenton winning 4-2 with a two-run home run in the 11th.
