A home elevator accident on Betty Welch Road in York left two people injured, one of them seriously, according to York Police.
The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. today at a private residence where an elevator had been installed.
Police are not releasing the identities of the people hurt in the elevator collapse. Both were transported to York Hospital. An initial call for a medical helicopter from Manchester, N.H. was canceled.
The incident is under investigation by the York Police Department, the York Village Fire Department and code enforcement for the town of York.
