I enthusiastically support Tony Payne, Faith Varney and Dave Murray for Falmouth Town Council.

As you know, Tony is seeking re-election for a second-three year term. I have worked with Tony for all of his first term. Tony has demonstrated to me that he is fiscally conservative and able to effectively listen to all points of view on each subject and cast his vote accordingly. Tony has also effectively reached out to citizens for their thoughts.

Faith Varney has a demonstrated history of dedication to the community. Faith was my music teacher at Plummer School and did this for 34 years. She is currently chairwoman of the Parks Community Programs Advisory Committee and was named Citizen of the Year in 2007. I’ve been most impressed with Faith taking the time to comment on subjects “at the podium” when we’ve discussed them at the Town Council.

Dave Murray served on the Planning Board for six years and Town Council for six years (and chaired both during his tenure). In addition, Dave has a solid public safety background, serving as a volunteer firefighter for many years.  His experience will be invaluable as Falmouth negotiates rough waters ahead with the economy and a shrinking municipal budget.

I believe that all three represent common sense in our town.  I ran seven years ago because I felt common sense had all but disappeared and we were legislating for the special interest groups, not for the best interest of Falmouth.  Please join me in voting on June 8.
