LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Sparks are retiring Lisa Leslie’s No. 9 jersey.
The team said a ceremony will be held at halftime of its game tonight against Indiana at Staples Center.
Leslie, a three-time WNBA MVP, led the Sparks to consecutive championships in 2001-02, and was the finals MVP in both of those seasons. She retired after last season.
Leslie will become the second player in Sparks history to have her jersey retired, joining Penny Toler, now the team’s general manager.
Now 38, Leslie is a mother of two and does TV commentary for the Sparks.
