Taking in the work of nearly 200 artists was a walk in the park for people in South Portland on Saturday.

The 31st annual Art in the Park Show & Sale featured original artwork and photographs from 185 artists, local and out of state. There was also food for sale, music from guitarist Peter Albert and an array of activities for kids, from making their own artwork to face painting, instruction in making folded paper flowers and entertainment from Julie & Brownie.

Money raised at the show — from artists’ registration fees and donations from sponsors — goes to cover costs and a scholarship to a student from South Portland High School.
