Happy Teriyaki restaurant reopens as Korea House

Happy Teriyaki has reopened as Korea House, serving all Korean cuisine.

The restaurant, 630 Congress St., opened in 2008 as a Japanese fast-food/takeout restaurant. After the husband-wife team of Myung and Kum You took over management, the restaurant served both Korean and Japanese. Happy Teriyaki transitioned to its all-Korean menu last Friday.

Visit favorite cheesemakers during Open Creamery Day

Visit your favorite cheesemaker Sunday during Open Creamery Day, when creameries all over the state will be open to the public. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at most farms.

Fern Hill Farm in Naples will have fresh goat’s milk chevre available, and there will be ricotta at Harmony Mill Farm in Waltham. Pineland Farms in New Gloucester will be open and holding cheesemaking demonstrations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Garden Harvest Dinner set for Oct. 13 at Yarmouth High

The Eighth Annual Community Garden Harvest Dinner, along with a silent auction and raffle, will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Yarmouth High School, 286 W. Elm St.

Proceeds from the event provide seed money for next year’s garden.

Seagrass Bistro will provide pasta with primavera sauce made with the garden’s tomatoes and onions, and there will be pesto made with the garden’s basil.

The menu also includes meatballs, mixed green salad, artisan bread, beverages and warm apple crisp a la mode.

Children will do some craft-making, and can take home free pumpkins while supplies last.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets are available in advance by calling 846-2406, or by paying at the door.

New executive chef arrives at Natalie’s Restaurant

Geoffroy Deconinck is the new executive chef at Natalie’s Restaurant at the Camden Harbour Inn.

Deconinck has worked in some of the world’s top restaurants, including Restaurant Alain Ducasse in Paris and Cafe Boulud, Restaurant Daniel and Bouley Restaurant in New York. Most recently, he worked under executive chef Cyrille Alannic at J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Dining Services, catering to New York CEOs.

Deconinck is a native of Belgium and graduated with high honors from CERIA Culinary Academy in Brussels. His approach in the kitchen is rooted in French tradition.

The new fall menu at Natalie’s includes dishes such as Peekytoe Crab Salad with Grapefruit Segments, Cucumber, Shaved Breakfast Radish and Yuzu Juice; Lobster crusted with Chorizo with Broccoli Rabe, Peppers Medley and Lobster Sauce; and Lamb Bolognese with Housemade Pappardelle, Vegetable Brunoise, Oregano and Parmesan Cheese.
