WESTBROOK — City officials in Westbrook have scrapped a proposal to move the Walker Memorial Library into the city’s vacant library because the asking price was too high.

Instead, the city is moving forward with the  $1.5 million renovation of the historic building that houses the library.

The Facilities and Streets Committee, a sub committee of the City Council, will meet Nov. 8 to discuss the proposed renovation, which will likely be completed in phases.
