AUGUSTA — Elementary, middle and high school students from across the state will cast mock ballots for the offices of governor and U.S. House of Representatives today. They also will vote on the three statewide referendum questions appearing on Maine ballots.

A “Rally and Tally” event at the Augusta Civic Center, hosted by the Secretary of State, will give students an opportunity to collect statewide mock election results by phone and the Internet and to report those results throughout the afternoon and evening.

Student voting will occur throughout the day today and the “Rally and Tally” event will take place from 3 to 7 p.m.
