PORTLAND — It will likely be another day or two before things get back to normal at the Portland International Jetport.

Airports in the New York area – the jetport’s largest market – are still recovering from the storm, said Paul Bradbury, the jetport’s director.

“They really got hammered and they’re really busy airports. You put those things together and it’s really hard to get back on your feet,” Bradbury said.

Most of the flights make round trips between Portland and the New York area, so both departure and arrivals are affected. The jetport remained open throughout the storm.

Bradbury said one bright spot is that there is a lull in travel before New Year’s Day so stranded passengers will have a better chance of getting seats on flights.
