Navy Lt. j.g. Glenn C. Diller has been designated a Naval Aviator after months of flight training and has received the coveted “Wings of Gold” while serving with Training Air Wing One, Merdian, Miss. He is the son of Beverly Diller and Marlin Diller, Jr., both of Brunswick, and is a graduate of Brunswick High School and University of Rochester, N.Y. Diller joined the Navy in May 2008.

 

Army Staff Sgt. Alicia Viernes Gonzalez was promoted to her current rank in November and is assigned to the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Ga. She is the daughter of Allan and Jennifer Viernes of Gorham and Yvette Astbury of Cornish. Gonzalez is a 2003 graduate of Gorham High School. She has been deployed to Iraq twice and will be stationed in Afghanistan in 2012.

 

Army Pvt. Nicholas A. Tarvers has graduated from the Direct Fire Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. He is the son of Dale and Sharon Tarvers of Westbrook and is a 2004 graduate of Westbrook High School.

 

Army National Guard Pvt. Nicole M. Carlin has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Carlin is the daughter of Susan Carlin of Harrison and James Carlin Jr. of Norway and is a 2010 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, South Paris.
