Westbrook police have charged a 45-year-old registered sex offender with failing to notify authorities that he was moving into the city.

This is the second time Daniel Rameau failed to register when moving into the exact same apartment at 9 Stroudwater St. He was charged in January, 2010 for failing to notify authorities when he moved into the apartment then, said Capt. Tom Roth.

Rameau’s past conviction include gross sexual misconduct in 1989 among other convictions, police said. Registered sex offenders are required to notify the state and local authorities whenever they change home or work addresses.

Rameau has yet to sentenced on the charge of failing to register last year, police said.
